Joseph Brofsky, DMD

Dr. Joseph Brofsky grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate education at Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He received his DMD degree at the University of the East College of Dentistry. He completed his general practice residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center and his pediatric dental residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.

He is section head  of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at North Shore LIJ Cohen Children’s Hospital. He trains pediatric dental residents and is an associate professor at NYU School of Dentistry.  Dr Brofsky has lectured at the Greater New York Dental Meeting and other dental groups on Behavior Management.  He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association. Dr. Brofsky is the Chairperson of Nassau County’s Give Kids a Smile Day, an event to help underserved children in Nassau Country.  In 2015, Dr. Brofsky became an Ambassador for Give Kids A Smile at the Institute for GKAS in St. Louis.

He strongly believes that the best way to protect a child’s smile for life is ensuring he/she has a good dental experience starting at the earliest possible age. In his spare time, Dr. Brofsky enjoys running, sporting events, and traveling.
